Privatising the TT
MCN have just published a piece by Stephen Davison, on his thoughts about the (very near!) future of the TT.
Interesting reading!

Ha ha, well, they aint shouting about this one, but after spending £200k on consultants they have now found out what a good consultant should have found out for them 2 years ago.

To use the word 'world' would upset the FIM who own the rights to 'World' in relation to bike racing events.

They are now starting to call it the 'TT Series' but saying that they don't HAVE to abide by FIM rules if they don't want to, but believe me if they don't, and if they start rubbing the FIM up the wrong way then the FIM could cause them plenty of problems in future with the main event let alone the 'series'

I understand there are other potential compliance issues in the background too, in relation to riders licences, so if the FIM decide to play hard ball on this one it could end up being classed as a pirate series, which would mean any rider competing could be banned from all FIM sanctioned events.

This should all have been covered off at the beginning really shouldn't it??

Why try and fix what clearly isn't broken?

I notice the article doesn't mention the Manx races. What happens to those, as if we can't all guess?
