Riders that should have done the TT
Who do you think should have done the TT . To start it off i would go with Ray McCullough he was a legend on the roads but never did the TT, wonder why?.

RE: Riders that should have done the TT
I think I read somewhere that he promised someone he wouldn't do it and kept that promise.  If that's the case then you have to respect his integrity but you have to wonder how he would have done.  I suspect he would have been a multiple winner.

Just think how it might have been in the late 70s to mid 80s to have had a TT grid with Joey vs Ray plus the other (significant) stars of the day.  Add to that how stunning would it have been but for the losses of the likes of Norman Brown and Mervyn Robinson.

Mike Edwards. Actually I think he was scheduled to do the TT in the 90s (?) but it never materalised for some reason. NW200 & Macau GP winner, I'm sure he would've been a challenger to Duffus and McCallen in 600 class!

Good call - that guy can race anything!  There's some you tube footage somewhere of him on a prototype Moto 450 single going out in the quick group at a track day at Silverstone.  He got out dragged by all the 1000cc sports bikes at first but once they got into some cornering he was gone...

im not saying any should go or should have in there day
if the rider wants to then fair enough but im sure easton would be good rider at the tt but its his choice and i wont think any less of him if he does not want to race at the tt
a rider should only be encouraged to race the mountain if there genuinely interested in the first place

As Cregnybaa says, Ray McCullough would have been awesome around the Mountain Circuit, you have to ask how that would have affected our perception of Joey Dunlop? I think he may have had fewer wins for sure?
Another rider who would have gone on to TT greatness was Phil Haslam. What could he have done on a TZ350 with slicks after his 103mph MGP lap on a TR3?

Robbie Rolfo had a huge interest in the TT and was a big Joey Dunlop fan, so much so that when he use to ride in the British Moto GP, he wore a Joey replica helmet

I think it would have been interesting to see what Jarno Saarinen would have done at the TT, as he had little trouble seeing off gp riders in the early seventies that where regular TT competitors.

Are you serious Seeley? Road racing can do without him.

Great shout spannerman +1 vote for Haslam love watching that fella ride a bike and think he'd go really well on the roads

Another I would have liked to see try the roads would have been Chris Walker

I'm glad Chris Walker hasn't and wont. Similar style to Karl Harris and a disaster waiting to happen on the roads. We've seen it. As for the comment about Seeley. Why? He did one on WD at the Northwest and now he is not welcome? Get a grip
