Organisers announce £10,000 prize fund for Tandragee 100

This year’s 55th Tandragee 100 boasts a £10,000 prize fund for the famous national road race, which has attracted over 350 entries.

Nine races are planned on Saturday, May 2, with roads closing from 10am sharp. Practice takes place on Friday, May 1, with roads closed from 3pm.

The winner of the feature Around-A-Pound Tandragee 100 Superbike race will receive £1,000, with a total prize fund of £2,000 set aside for the main race of the afternoon.

This September marks the 10th anniversary of Richard Britton’s fatal crash at the inaugural Ballybunion road races in Co Kerry and a tribute will be held to the popular Enniskillen man at Tandragee, when four of his machines will be ridden in a special parade lap.

Entries include Ryan Farquhar on the KMR/SGS Kawasaki Superstock and Supertwin machines, Scotland’s Keith Amor (Rig Deluge BMW S1000RR/Honda CBR600RR), William Dunlop on the Chris Dowd/Ivan Curran Yamaha R6, Jamie Hamilton (Cookstown/B.E. Racing), Derek McGee (Wilson Craig Honda) and Jeremy McWilliams, who will join Farquhar on one of Roger Winfield’s Harris Yamahas in the Forgotten Era class.

The race programme is as follows:

Race 1 – Traynors Motor Store Open Race; Race
2 – Junior Support Race (201-400cc); Race
3 – Emerald Road Racing Magazine Supersport 600;
Race 4 – Phillip Riddell Memorial Classic.
Race 5 – 250cc GP/Forgotten Era;
Race 6 – City Autos Lightweight 125/400cc/450cc;
Race 7 – Tandragee Centra Irish Championship Senior Support;
Race 8 – Tayto NI Ltd Supertwins;
Race 9 – Around-A-Pound Tandragee 100 Open.




Meanwhile, the annual Injured Riders walk around the Tandragee circuit will be held on Sunday, April 26.
The walk will start from and finish at Moyrourkan Orange Hall. Sign on: 1.30pm for 2pm.
