TYCO BMW ALL SET FOR MAY DAY ACTION AT OULTON PARK

Following a positive test last week at the Cheshire venue, all three Tyco BMW riders are looking forward to this weekend’s Bank Holiday Monday meeting, during round three of the British Superbike series, and supporting classes, at Oulton Park.

Tommy Bridewell:

“I think we made a good leap forward at the Oulton test and it’s probably the first weekend this year that I’m really excited coming into a race, as I know we have as good a chance as anyone for a podium result. It’s obviously a strong grid in BSB and the goal at Oulton will be to bridge that little gap to the front guys. Apart from the stupid crash I had at Brands we weren’t that far away from having a pretty good weekend, so I think we can make up for that on Monday on the Tyco BMW.”

Michael Laverty:

“I’m looking forward to Oulton Park and I’m in a positive frame of mind following a good test there last week. We found a better direction with the set up on my Tyco BMW S 1000 RR, allowing me to get more comfortable. It was certainly a big step in the right direction. I feel it may be round four before I’m troubling the podium regulars, however I will be pushing 100% this weekend to outperform my own expectations, where the main goal is solid points and progression on the bike set up, whilst keeping an eye firmly on that showdown spot.”

Alastair Seeley [Superstock 1000]:

“We’ve had a decent enough start to the year despite a few little hiccups but for me to be so comfortable on the S1000RR so soon after stepping off a 600cc machine is very positive. At Brands we had the race win in the bag only for the electrical problem to change things on the last lap, but last week at the test we showed enough pace to know that we are in the ballpark for a podium at least this weekend. I’m confident in the bike and the crew around me, so I’m looking ahead in a positive frame of mind.”

Philip Neill – Team Manager:

“It has been a busy few weeks with both testing and racing activities. We still have lots to learn about our new BMW Motorrad machinery, although results from recent tests prove we are going in the right direction. The potential of our package with the S 1000 RR and K-Tech is massive, and we are excited to get back on track this weekend and continue that progress.”
