William Dunlop dominated the feature Superbike race at the Tandragee 100 on the Tyco BMW Superstock machine

William Dunlop scored his first victory on the Tyco BMW Superstock machine in the feature Superbike race at the Tandragee 100 on Saturday to complete a double.

Dunlop had earlier stormed to victory in the Supersport event and followed up in damp and cold conditions at the 5.3-mile Co Armagh circuit with a dominant win on the S1000RR as he continues his preparations for the North West 200.

Ryan Farquhar, who won Friday’s Open Superbike race after a terrific duel with Dunlop, was a non-starter on his SGS/KMR Kawasaki.

Dunlop had established a lead of almost four seconds over Jamie Hamilton (Cookstown/B.E. Suzuki) after the opening lap, with new Wilson Craig signing Derek McGee close behind in third place on his 600cc Supersport machine.

Dunlop, who started from pole, disappeared into the distance as he pulled a huge lead of 19.7 seconds by the end of lap three of the shortened five-lap race, with Hamilton now a lonely second after putting daylight between himself and Mullingar man McGee.

The North West 200 Superbike winner maintained his advantage on the BMW to coast home almost 29 seconds ahead of Hamilton, with McGee a further 13.8 seconds in arrears.

Cheshire’s Connor Behan, Billy Redmayne from the Isle of Man and Colin Stephenson completed the top six.

Earlier, Farquhar won the Classic race on Roger Winfield’s Paton from Paul Coward and Jeremy McWilliams, who secured the final rostrum place another of Winfield’s Patons on his race debut at Tandragee.

The Dungannon man also took the honours overall in the combined Moto3 (125GP)/SS400 race on his Moto450 machine to complete a treble at Tandragee from Ian Morrell (400) and Paul Robinson (125), while Neil Kernohan won the 250GP event by five seconds from Robinson and Skerries rider Michael Sweeney.

Newcomer Rhys Hardisty came out on top in the Junior Support race by 1.5 seconds from Tommy Henry, with Noel Bertram in third place.
