2015 TT's Stats
I'd like to open a thread with the statistics of the last TT.
We usually did it at iomtt.com forum with the precious contribution of Phil Wain and other members.
I obviously need much time to update my deep lists about all the races, but for now I wish to do some considerations on this fantastic last Senior TT:

- The 3 all-time best laps
- 17 laps >131mph (only on 4 laps)
- 25 riders did their absolute best lap
- 2 broken sector times of "virtual lap" (one from 2009)
- From Cronk-Ny-Mona (lap 1) to Cron-Ny-Mona (lap 2), McGuinness did 17.00.046 (133mph...)!

Others will follow...

RE: 2015 TT's Stats
I forgot the most important result!

The JMG's third lap of 17.54.365 is the first <18' pit-stop lap in TT history (previous best was J Hillier's 18.04.015 in 2013 Senior).

This is probably the all-time fastest lap in Mountain Course!

Cheers

Nice luca! I'm waiting for more statistics. Was that you who figured out in what of the 4 or 6 laps races the most 130 plus laps were set?
Must be updated now.

RE: 2015 TT's Stats
Look at this, Silja:

                            laps >130mph
Senior 2015                   31    (only 4 laps!)
Senior 2013                   22
Sbk     2015                  16
Senior 2014                   15
Sbk     2014                  11
Sbk     2013                  10

2015 Senior has been by far the fastest race in TT history!

I've tried to copy and paste from my spreadsheet but just get a jumble of numbers so I've copied the screen grab as jpegs:

Very nice, HammerHead!
But in my database, Plater's sector (Bungalow) was 3:13.557, so virtual lap should be 16:55.567.

Nice one, thanks Hammerhead. Steve Plater's mountain climb from 2009 is looking like quite a feat now, still unbeaten even after the last couple of very fast years.

I never realised they were averaging 155mph from Ballaugh to Ramsey, even with the slow corners like Sulby Bridge and Parliament Square, and all that bumpy stuff after Ginger Hall. Incredible.

Yes...
Now (165 laps over 130mph, 57 this year) the count is:

Lap 1     51
Lap 2     53
Lap 4     39
Lap 6     22

It misses the 6' lap of the Senior...

Sorry luca, I don't understand the last. What is missing, please?

The 6' lap of 2015 TT (it was just on 4 laps this year!!), so we can presume it should have been about 10 laps more for "Lap 6"...

Ok luca. Thank you. I knew about the 4 laps as I was there in the press room but it I was confused about the little ' . I didn't understand that. In Swedish it means minute...and in English, well I still don't understand. Does that 6' mean 6th???

Yes Silja, you can consider like 6th or 6^ ... in Italian is usual, I don't really know in English, but I suppose so.
Keep in touch!
