COCK O' THE NORTH MEETING IS DEFINITELY ON!

Submitted on Wednesday, July 1, 2015
The annual Cock O’ the North race meeting at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough will definitely take place on the 18th & 19th July.
Due to legal problems regarding road closures the meeting will be compacted into one days racing on Sunday 19th July with a 12 race programme. Practice starting at 9am and the first race at 12 noon.
On Saturday 18th there will be a riders presentation to the fans giving you all much more time to meet the riders and have a chat with them. In addition a paddock walk about which will be open to everyone who purchases Saturday tickets.
The great news is tickets for Saturday 18th July have been reduced from £20 to £10. For those people who have already purchased advanced tickets, they will be contacted directly. The paddock will be open from 11am and later in the afternoon the machines will be scrutineered.
The bikers village camp site will be open as normal from Friday with a late bar and disco. On Saturday there will also be a live band. The trade village will be open as normal on both days.
This new schedule has given the Auto 66 the opportunity to hold a marshals training day on Saturday 18th July starting at 9am. Anyone who is interested in marshalling and wants to take up marshalling can arrive at the main spectator gate, were you will be able to sign on with the chief marshal and get a pack with the days activates. New marshals and officials are always wanted and this is an ideal opportunity for you to get involved in the sport. Anyone not wanting to go on the track, there are still jobs available in the rally area and riders paddock. There is also the opportunity to be trained up to be a time keeper, sound tester and other roles. So come along on Saturday 18th July. Your help & support would be most welcome.
The meeting has attracted and excellent entry with current Gold Cup holder Ivan Lintin alongside Dean Harrison and Lee Johnson in the solo classes, with Conrad Harrison, Ian Bell, and making a welcome return, Greg Lambert in the sidecar class.
We look forward to welcoming you to Oliver's Mount for what will be a great opportunity to meet your heroes on Saturday and an action filled Sunday of racing.

RE: Scarborough Cock-o-the North
Just read this myself - sure I read over the Winter that Auto66 only had 7 days for racing and was surprised that the Spring Cup was a two dayer this year. Would have thought that CoN would have been one of the club's biggest earners if the weather is good - looks like someone has c**ked up royally. And what on Earth are you getting for a tenner on Saturday? Glad I have not bought an advance ticket or booked digs on the expectation of a two day race meeting.
