I THINK it is 1200cc, but I can't be sure. Mine is 1109cc.

How can you possibly compete at a major race meeting not having read the rules thoroughly!!???!!! No good thinking about it, you HAVE TO KNOW for certain....especially being the Riders Liason Officer, if only fot the MGP. Or am I wrong???
Anyway have a look here    http://www.iomtt.com/~/media/Files/2015/...2015_2.pdf

RE: F1 technical spec
I'm not the Riders Liaison Officer for the Classic TT, just the Manx Grand Prix.
Who said I hadn't read the rules? I merely said that I THINK the limit is 1200cc. Just because it's all there on page 24 of the supplementary regulations, doesn't mean that I haven't read them. I can't remember everything.
In fact the MGP Office praised me for noting a contradiction in the Supplementary Regs and the Final Instructions yesterday, so I think I have read them.
rc30alfie I think I have guessed that you are obviously perfect, sorry if I fail to meet your exacting standards.
And yes VTwin mechanic, it's all there in the Regs.

I seriously doubt that anyone could know all the regs for all the classes. Icon_frown

Sometimes some people really do need to just sit down, shut up and learn some manners and respect.

If Malcolms warning was for me then I apologise unreservedly.

However I cannot see why stating that if you enter a major race meeting you should have read the rules thoroughly is wrong? Otherwise what is the point of issuing them??

I certainly cant see why I ' need to sit down , shut up and learn some manners and respect ' or have 'sticks in my spokes'.

I agree alfie. We've all gone over the top. I am sure you meant no ill. I've been busy revising the regulations all night!

Just setting off on my voyage. Good luck to all fellow competitors, hope to see a few forum members over there.

Well as a competitor the first instance of you doing anything wrong,  the first thing you would be asked was have you read and understood the regs. similar to what Malcolm reminds us here from time to time.

Creg - that's true, but the trouble with F1 technical regs was that they seemed to change depending on who was asking the question or who the question was being asked about !!  At least now the regs are sufficiently broad to allow most (reasonable) modifications to standard.

F1 Technical Spec?

Surely the FIM laid these down several years ago??

As to what the organisers of today lay down, these surely constitute a serious breach of the Trade Descriptions Acts???

It's Formula Libre, pure and simple.

Just be careful Guys as to how this thread pans out,

As we all know, Rules in racing can be subject to change depending on who you are, If you get my Drift ?

But some very good points have been raised,

So be nice with your comments,
More so as some people might not be in a position to reply to them,

Thank you Icon_cool

RE: F1 technical spec
Correct me if I wrong but I dont think the F1 rules for the Classic TT have altered since the first race in 2013.
Basically they say its for motorcycles built  'using components available in the eligibility periods or manufactured after that date without substantial alteration' and 'where components are of later manufacture, they must resemble the original period components'
Pre Dec 1986 1300cc
1987 to 1992 '750cc'
I think that covers virtually anything you might want to build and/or race. Not strictly 'Classic' or correct in the historical sense but provides a great variation of machinery. Something that the TT lacks.

If the F1 750cc class is in the spirit of the years past then you can gaurantee there will be some oversize big engines used, hmmm
