Help needed.
Is there any knowledge on this forum about off road riding on motorbikes in the Isle of Man? We are coming 50 fans by airplane to the island June the 2nd. The same day arrives a container by a lorry from Sweden in Douglas. There are some off road street legal bikes in that container. Is there maps showing where it is allowed to ride these bikes? I mean paths and minor roads and so on.  If so, I’d like information, please.

Hi Silja,

The best maps you can buy are the 1:25 000 maps North and South. They're brilliant and are marked up with all the rights of way for off-road motorbikes.

I've used them for years. I promise you'll have the best time if you venture around "off road". There are some classic lanes to enjoy, especially on the Mountain itself and some really challenging ones in the South.

The maps can be bought on line or at most newsagents in the Isle of Man.

The one you want is the top one on this link

Thank you guys! I'll check this out! I have the the 1:25 000 map but it's some years old. Better to check a later edition?

Hi Silja,

It's the two maps that you should get. One is North and one is South. They come as "a pair" and they're all marked up with the green lanes.

The ferry terminal shops sell them too.

Cheers
Rich

Yes RICHIOMTT I have the two maps north and south. But 7-8 years old. Do you think there are a lot of changes of the green roads since I bought my maps?

I think you'll be fine Silja with the old maps. One of my set is 10 years old and I still use that.

Cheers
