How the 2020 road racing calendar looks after coronavirus lockdown

The coronavirus pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on the road racing calendar for 2020 with race meetings throughout Ireland and across the UK cancelled or postponed.

Here, we take a look at how the Covid-19 outbreak has affected every road race planned this year:


Scarborough Spring Cup (18th/19th) – postponed until August 15th/16th

Cookstown 100 (24th/25th) – postponed until September 11th/12th, subject to approval


Tandragee 100 (1st/2nd) – postponed (no alternative dates proposed)

North West 200 (May 12th to 16th) – postponed (no alternative dates proposed)


Pre-TT Classic Races, Billown (May 26th to June 1st) – cancelled

Isle of Man TT (May 31st to June 12) – cancelled

Post-TT Races, Billown (June 13) – cancelled

Scarborough Northern Festival (June 20th/21st) – as scheduled

Kells Road Races (June 20th/21st) – cancelled

Munster 100 Road Races (27th/28th) – cancelled


Skerries 100 (4th/5th)*

Southern 100 (6th to 9th) – cancelled

Walderstown (11th/12th)*

Faugheen 50 (18th/19th) – cancelled

Armoy Road Races (24th/25th) – as scheduled

Barry Sheene Festival, Oliver’s Mount (25th/26th) – as scheduled


Ulster Grand Prix (5th to 8th) – cancelled

East Coast Festival, Killalane (8th/9th)*

Classic TT Races/Manx Grand Prix (August 22nd to September 4th) – as scheduled


Scarborough Gold Cup, Oliver’s Mount (12th/13th) – as scheduled


Stars at Darley (10th/11th) – as scheduled


Macau Grand Prix (19th to 21st) – as scheduled

* Motorcycling Ireland, the governing body of motorcycle racing in southern Ireland – incorporating the MCUI Southern Centre – announced on March 19 that ‘all Motorcycling Ireland events are cancelled for the foreseeable future’.
