Greenlight Television have been involved with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 Road Races since the 1990’s becoming an Associate Partner in 2005 and have filmed and produced programmes for television broadcasters world-wide and DVD’s annually since the races 50th anniversary.

Southern 100 Racing and Greenlight TV had already discussed and agreed plans for the 2020 Southern 100 Races early in the year, only to have them put on hold once the Covid-19 pandemic was confirmed and subsequently in early March the race organisers announced the cancellation of the races, along with the Pre-TT Classic and Post TT
Road Races for this year.

During the enforced ‘closed season’ Aisling Ridout and Rob Hurdman put forward a proposal to broadcast a Virtual Chat Show during what would have been Southern 100 Race Week.

The opportunity was eagerly accepted, and a programme format was put into action to be broadcast on the Friday evening 10th July at 7.00pm on four broadcast platforms.

With current (2019) Southern 100 Solo and Sidecar Champions accepting an invitation to appear, and the broadcast being hosted by regular Greenlight Commentator, Dave Moore, the programme title was easy - Southern 100 Champions and Moore!

The ‘More’ also included other Southern 100 & Billown Course race winners, Dominic Herbertson and Jamie Coward who joined Dean Harrison, Pete Founds and Jevan Walmsley.

Dave Moore was sat in Greenlight’s Headquarters in Tromode, along with Producer Rob Hurdman and Tony Stewart who ensured the pictures and sound were broadcast, as the guests sat in the comfort of their respective homes.

Leisurely conversation interspersed with racing clips featuring the guest riders and astute questions regarding plans for the remainder of this year and next year soon filled in the almost 60-minute programme which was enjoyed by 11,000 + fans watching the show live and just short of 1000 on the ‘King of the Roads’ Channel.

Southern 100 Racing are very appreciative of Rob Hurdman, Aisling Ridout, Libby Hurdman, Dave Moore, and Tony Stewart of Greenlight TV in the production of ‘Southern 100 Champions & Moore!’ We are also grateful to Dean Harrison (Silicone Racing); Dominic Herbertson ( Davies Motorsport / Belgrave Motor Co); Jamie Coward (preZ Racing & KTS Racing) and Pete Founds and Jevan Walmsley (Team Founds Racing) for giving up their time to appear in the programme – thank you again.

Southern 100 Racing and Greenlight TV look forward to welcoming friends old and new to the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 Road Races held on the Colas Billown Course on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Championship Day, Thursday 12th, 13th, 14th & 15th July 2021.
