Update on tender to manage Jurby
[Image: ARA-Logo.jpg]

As many of you will be aware, in 2020 the Department of Infrastructure (DoI) ran a procurement process for a licence to manage Jurby circuit. ARA submitted an excellent bid which easily topped the 'quality' component of the assessment, but was outbid on the amount to be paid back to the DoI. We followed the formal appeal process and in September were notified that our appeal had been successful, with the AG's office recommending that the DoI did not award the contract on the basis of this flawed tender process.

We hoped for a timely response from the DoI, but heard nothing further in 2020. However, last week we were informed that the DoI has now formally withdrawn the procurement process, and no contract will be entered into.

For 2021, this means that the club will continue to book the circuit through the Department for Enterprise (DfE), as we did last year. We don’t know how the DoI and DfE might proceed beyond this.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported the club throughout this process. Many of you contacted your MHKs, and we know that this raised the profile of the club and contributed to this positive outcome for the club.

Following our very successful 2020 season, we will build on this further in 2021.

We look forward to seeing all our riders and supporters at Jurby again in the new season.
