HARRISON MAKES DUNLOP SWITCH FOR ROADS CAMPAIGN

SILICONE Engineering Racing and rider Dean Harrison have announced a switch to Dunlop tyres for the team’s road racing programme.

Dunlop is the most successful tyre in the history of the Isle of Man TT, and has been the brand of choice for 13 consecutive TT winners up until 2018.

Now 2019’s reigning Senior TT winner Harrison will make the switch, a sign of his confidence in the brand being able to give him the edge in building on his road racing legacy.

Harrison first raced at the Isle of Man TT in 2011 and three years later he topped the podium at the world’s most famous road race for the first time when he won the Lightweight race.

In 2019, he joined the road racing hall of fame by winning the headline Senior TT.  He has also scored numerous podium finishes in the Ulster Grand Prix, the North West 200 and two top ten finishes in the Macau Grand Prix.

Harrison and the Silicone Engineering Racing Kawasaki squad will switch to Dunlop with immediate effect for road racing events as they begin the long build up to 2022’s major events.

The new partnership involves Harrison becoming an Official Dunlop Brand Ambassador, giving fans the opportunity to see exclusive content by following @DunlopMoto on Facebook and Instagram.

“I’ve ridden on Dunlop tyres in the past – I was on Dunlop when I did my first ever TT – and I’ve always thought they were brilliant tyres so I’m really pleased to be making the move back,” said Harrison

“I’ve always liked the brand and the people there are really nice too. After a few years on a different tyre, I think a change is good, especially to be moving to a manufacturer with such a strong sporting history behind it. I just can’t wait to get back out. It’s been way too long and I’m really excited about riding a motorbike again and ultimately, getting back onto the roads with the best tyres underneath me.”

Wim Van Achter, Motorsport Manager at Dunlop Motorcycle Europe said:

“To have Dean switch back to Dunlop is testimony to the development we have put into creating our latest generation of race tyres.

“We’re delighted to have his experience, feedback and pace in the Dunlop team and look forward to setting new records together.”
