Late Decision
I've made a (very) late decision to go over to the Island for a couple of days for a bit of TT practice and racing. I have accomodation, the problem is getting there and back so I'm considering travelling as a foot passenger from/to Liverpool. The only available crossings are at awkward times meaning I'll need to park my car for a couple of days, near to the Pier Head if possible. Can anyone advise of free parking spots? Since I hate paying to park I'm quite happy to walk a good distance. Many thanks in anticipation, Andrew.

RE: Late Decision
When you going Andrew? I live in Runcorn. I'm going over on the 1st on the bike. But if your going before then you can park in my street and I could give you a lift to Liverpool  I'm home from work most days at 4pm. Train would take you back to Runcorn then short taxi ride.

RE: Late Decision
To be honest, there is nowhere to park for free within any walking distance to the Pier Head.

The only other option I can think of is park your car at one of the train stations on the Liverpool line. You could walk from lime Street or Liverpool Central to the peer head.

RE: Late Decision
I'd park on Sefton Street next to Brunswick railway station (on the Northern Line) where there are no restrictions. Two stops in the Southport direction to Moorfields Station and a 10 minute walk west along Tithebarn Street straight onto the boat.

Trains run every 15 minutes between about 06:30 and 23:30 (half-hourly on Sundays), so you don't even have to worry about missing "your" train. Single fare is about £2.50.

It's my route to the TT every year.

What dates are you going? I live 5 minutes away from the Pier Head.
I can give you what 3 words directions to the nearest free parking about 15 minutes walk away.
