Beyond comprehension how the Govt have progressively messed up such a lovely area and surprise surprise it's now unusable because of good old fashioned health n safety reasons, maybe the Govt Goons should be asking themselves why G4S were getting paid £50k to provide "security" for the site - the same firm that gets paid multi-thousands to put the barriers out/back at Parliament Sq on practice / race days.

RE: No Sulby Claddagh camp this year!
We camped on the Claddagh for several years, but found that nights became difficult with more and more locals in motorhomes partying into the wee small hours.

We moved on to Glenlough for a couple of years and then Ballaugh for several years.

Hired a cottage in Peel for the last few years as the bones have got a bit creaky from sleeping on the ground! Sadly that finishes this year.

Sulby Claddagh was brilliant, although few facilities, with quite a band of regulars. There was an old boy called Norman who used to marshal at the trials and held court at his van many evenings. I seem to remember he died in his sleep there about fifteen years ago!

It's not health n safety reasons that's just an excuse the real problem is the government are not doing there job properly if they were there would not be any reason to close it.
