Quarter Bridge Pub Could Be New Ambulance HQ
Reported in the Examiner yesterday that the Government has made an offer for the QB pub, owned by Heron & Brearley. H&B are awaiting confirmation from the Government that it has been given approval by the Treasury.

The Government want to add the site to their "Strategic Land Bank" and road widening at the roundabout is one possibility.

David Killip the CEO of the DOH and Social Security said it's been proposed that Government buy the QB Hotel as a "Strategic Acquisition" and that the primary purpose would be improvement of the road junction, however if the area was not needed his department would look at whether there was scope in developing facilties of their own.
Standing in the middle of the road is very dangerous; you get knocked down by traffic from both sides.

Yes it was rumoured that it was up for sale and now they are proposing
using it for Ambulance station.
Another TT landmark lost but the pub never looks that busy the rest of the year, not that I go in there so wouldn't really know !
Can't see how the road can be improved at quarterbridge other than
using some of the pavement to make turning left easier to Castletown but that's about it !
