In todays Manx paper in the readers reply section a reader is calling on the Government to review the running of the TT and the MGP. Its been sent in a Manx man who says its now time that the Government had a rethink on the amount of races held on Public roads on the Island as the Manx public that have supported the events for many years are now well and truly cheesed off whith the disruption the races cause to the resident of the island. He is also calling for the Government to release the true details regarding the costs of running the events.

THE FUTURE OF THE BIKE RACING WILL BE DECIDED HERE, AN ISLE OF MAN GOVERNMENT FILM.

This extract from Manx Forums seems to indicate there are more than a few people who are aware of what is going on with regard to the commercialisation of the TT.
I am sure Nipper won't mind me copying it below:-

Plans are now well afoot for the TT 2008 Manx Radio News Item

With all the (potential) shenanigans regarding the Isle of Man Government now choosing to use a limited company arm of the ACU (Auto Cycle Union) to run the TT, I wonder if there will be enough personnel willing to continue giving their free time to running the TT in order to allow many Isle of Man highly paid civil servants and ACU officials to bask in the TT glory.

The now well known marshalling situation is another matter altogether.

I wonder if the headlines and hype that has started already is perhaps abit premature?

The Isle of Man TT . . . . . . . . good while it lasted? "
