Not much about Freddie Dixon, Cyril Smith, Eric Oliver, Max Deubel, Helmut Fath , Chris Vincent, Fritz Scheidegger, Klaus Enders, Siegfreid Schauzu etc. And many others, but yes, a good website.

If you're interested in racers from that era, you would love Stan Dibben's book. It's not entirely about his career as a passenger, a lot of it is when he was in the Navy in the War, as well as riding works machines for the major British companies as well as roadtesting for them and working on the Bluebird project with Campbell.
I'm not on commission either Wink It's just such a good read. Mandy isn't into bikes at all (although she's learning to get the hang of them now) but she loved the book from a person perspective, and I was interested in the racing side of it, e.g. the tactics of racing against the works BMW's of the day with the chairs on the other side.
It's not a cheap paperback, but I would say worth every penny.. everyone keeps borrowing it at meetings and not wanting to give it back.
Really, I'm NOT on commission no matter how much it sounds it! I just so enjoyed reading it.

He really is an amazing character. Thank goodness he was persuaded to write it. I have read half of it and now lent it to a friend in hospital... I hope he remembers to give it back!
