nw200 bbc brill practice,,oh well it did vanish now and then,but great and that sunshine,is that not the best road race ever?i think so,last did it 50 years ago.25 tooth sprocket 4 gears and a bottom gear so very high,good training for slipping a clutch,,norton 145 with a fairing,,in 57 with a dustbin 500 norton and 500 moto-guzzi 150..and not much in the way of brakes,,then drive on the wrong side of the road to belfast to catch the last boat home,just....roll on thursday,,,

John McGuinness has claimed provisional pole for Saturday's two Superbike races at the North-West 200.

The Honda rider from Morecambe was fastest in the opening practice session with an average lap speed of 121.63mph, pipping New Zealander Bruce Anstey.

Anstey was fastest in the Superstock class ahead of Alistair Seeley from Carrickfergus and Cameron Donald.

Scotland's Keith Amor topped the Supersport timings with McGuinness second and Ryan Farquhar third.
