Holiday advice
I'm a regular at the TT but it's always a 'lads' event with the usual hostelries/entertainment and food outlets bing visited. This year I'm coming over with my good lady for the Manx. We're staying in Port Erin for the Week. Anyone have any tips for eating out and that kind of the thing? We are on the bike so travel not a problem.
Cheers,
Rob

RE: Holiday advice
An idea for a wifey type of day out. A few years ago a friend and I got on to the steam railway to Douglas, then the Horse Tram along the prom, then the Electric Railway up to Snaefell. Of course there were plenty of refreshment stops along the way! A great day out & I didn`t even touch my bike keys all day. I think you can get some sort of supersaver ticket that covers everything, except the refreshments (beer) of course!

RE: Holiday advice
This is a gem but only if you like a little walk.
The Secret Pool.
If you follow the TT course to Milntown jump (just before school house straight Ramsey) turn right opposite the builders merchants about 50 yards before the jump, take the next right, only a 100 yards or so from memory(these are single file little lanes) then follow it until to reach the gate or end of the road. From there you walk, it is a gradual up hill walk looking at the stream to your left and the mountains ahead. I haven't been for 12 years but I think it was maybe a mile max until you cross the small stream ( more of a trickle at the crossing point), and there you will be greeted by a natural swimming pool, the stream enters as a waterfall and leaves the other end. It is always quiet, usually disserted, last time I was there I was skinny dipping but it is fresh COLD water so be warned ;-) and a fine place to get some fresh air, peace, scenery and time together. A picnic would be good, but make sure you choose a good day for the weather.
Enjoy

Not possible, Helen.
Everyone knows that witches and water don't mix....
Perhaps a barbecue would be more of your thing
Perhaps I shouldn't go down to Billown today, methinks.
Oooopps
....scone out to take photos!
