Tonight at the Southern
On a freezing cold, dark, damp JULY evening, we saw some tremendous riding, and the 2008 Southern100 promises to be one of the best.
Ian Lougher, Chris Palmer, Guy Martin, Alan Oversby, Ryan Farquhar, 3 Dunlops to name but a few.... and 31 sidecars, including 5 newcomers.
Good to see Alan Phillips back out, and he tells me now he's done a few laps he feels great.
Conor Cummins looking great on the MacAdoo bike, in his new leathers, and clearly enjoying himself.
Mark Buckley seemed to be having some problems and was using this first session to sort the bike.
Awesome performances from some sidecars and I anticipate races of the calibre of this year's TT. Can't wait.
Punctuated by regular appearances of the steam trains, the practices tonight were attended by the biggest crowd I've seen for a first practice night. You couldn't find a space anywhere. Bodes well for a bumper crowd at Thursday's main races.
Practice again tomorrow night at 6.

You'd have to fill out a risk assessment for that.

I watched (and tried out the camera) last night on the approach to Ballabeg. Is it just my perception, or does anyone else feel that the racing just seems to get better and better?
Of course I always name the S100 as the best racing anywhere.smilie

Aw darnit!
I had a bit of an incident and bent my motor - don't ask - which meant it was 8pm before I could leave and it was therefore too late to head down south...

About to have tea & checking weather before venturing out tonight - it's throwing it down up here at present!

Can anyone tell me the schedule for the racing, tonight and tomorrow, please? I've looked everywhere but can't find anything about the order of races.
Many thanks.
