Here is the information for all you lucky people who can watch the TV program on Stanley Woods next Monday.
Not sure about the 'forgotten hero' bit though.

You know,if you blow that photo up, that could just be Phil Irving standing behind Stanley, he would have been 35 at the time of the 1938 TT when this photo was taken during practice for the 350.
There is the trademark cigarette, glasses and hairstyle.

If it isn't Phil, it's his absolute double, Don - I'm quite sure you're right.

He was with Velos in 1938, and went to the TT with the team.

Incidentally, No 28 behind Stanley is the 350 Norton of Jack Moore, a garage owner from Cheadle in Cheshire.

Was his first TT, and sadly he was killed on the Mountain on lap 3 of the Junior TT
