Joey Dunlop Injured Riders Fund ( Isle of Man )

May 2001 Newsletter

Hi everybody,

As we are approaching what would have been "TT Practice Week" I thought we would provide you with our latest Fund up-date so far…..

As you can imagine, even though there are no races at this years T.T., we still need all your continuing support over the next few weeks in order for us to raise further funds to build the Disablement Lodge in the name of the late Joey Dunlop, M.B.E. O.B.E.

If you are interested in purchasing any Joey Dunlop memorabilia items then come and see us at the Hailwood Centre from Sunday 27th May - Friday 8th June (hours, variable and subject to demand)

There will be a lot of our helpers selling the following items:-

Brick Cards
T. Shirts
C.D's
Videos
Stamps
Badges
Stickers

And much, much more.

As well as the above, we will also be setting out stalls at various events, including the Fun Loving Criminals night and also the Van Morrison evening.

The Committee members would like to thank the following people who have been involved in making our latest donation from Heron and Brearley possible:

Chris Taggart and his assistant, Jean who have been absolutely fantastic in making sure our posters and collection boxes for the Joey Dunlop Injured Riders Fund (Isle of Man) are based around their public houses from now until next year.

Any contributions via the collection boxes will be gratefully received and go towards the building of our disablement lodge.

Ton Up TT Quiz

For all you T.T. race fans out there, we have designed a T.T. "Ton-up" Quiz for you to enter. The price is £5.00 per entry and will be donated to the fund. All you have to do is send a self addressed envelope to:

Mrs Barbara Wood
71 Snaefell Road
Willaston
Douglas
Isle of Man

Please make your cheque payable to: The Joey Dunlop Injured Riders Fund (Isle of Man). Don't forget to state your full telephone number on the back of your cheque.

Barbara will then send you the questions and a pre-paid envelope for you to return the questions for marking.

The Winner will enjoy a ride in the Open Roads Car during the course of this years Manx Grand Prix or next year's T.T, whenever you are visiting the Island (if not local).

Good luck with the competition.

Runners up will receive a special Joey T.Shirt.

The Committee would like to say a big thank you to Roberta and Dot from the Isle of Man Post Office for arranging the pre-paid envelopes in respect of our fund. Don't forget to come and see us at various events during this next two weeks.

My understanding is that tickets for the book launch are available from "Ottakars" book shop, Strand Street, Douglas.

In concluding, I would like to say I am very happy to have received the help and assistance of Paul Phillips, yes the man himself, with putting together this special Bulletin.

Thanks Paul - fantastic Job!!
