Southern 100 To Be Part of the BMW Motorrad Road Race Trophy 2017
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Southern 100 International Road Races has been notified that it will be a round of the BMW Motorrad Road Race Trophy Championship 2017.

The five round series includes the North West 200; Isle of Man TT; Southern 100 International Road Races; Ulster Grand Prix and the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Two Superbike races, the Ellan Vannin Fuels Senior Race held on the Wednesday evening and the Manx Gas Solo Championship Race run on the Thursday afternoon will be designated the BMW Motorrad Races Trophy Rounds at the July meeting.

BMW Motorrad offers every participant in the BMW Motorrad Race Trophy attractive prize money, exclusive deals with the BMW Motorrad Motorsport cooperation partners as well as a unique welcome package.

The BMW riders’ success and Championships will be rewarded with a total prize purse of more than 100.000 Euro at the end of the season.

In addition, to the well-known Championship award for riders and teams who win a championship and the “Race Finisher” bonus, two new awards will be introduced in the 2017 season: The “Newcomer of the Year” and the “Best BMW Rider in the Class”.

The “Newcomer of the Year” will be rewarded with a voucher for a BMW original parts package to the value of 2.500 Euros.

The “Best BMW Riders in the Class” will also be rewarded with a bonus of 500 Euros from the 2017 season on.

To date, the best 15 riders of the final standings have been awarded – now, this number will be doubled and prize cheques and trophies will be given to the top 30 Race Trophy finishers. The winner will receive 15,000 Euros, second place will be rewarded with 10,000 Euros and third place with 7,500 Euros.

In the inaugural 2014 season, 69 BMW riders registered. The following year, 104 racers took part, and last season, 2016, no fewer than 127 BMW race riders joined the Race Trophy – twice as many as in the first year.

Registration is open now and up to 30th June 2017.

All participants signing up for the 2017 BMW Motorrad Race Trophy within this timeframe will receive an exclusive welcome pack, including BMW Motorrad Motorsport jacket, shirt and t-shirts, HP pit carpet, BMW logos and several racing stickers.
