The following is self explanatory, part of a mail I received recently. She sustained some injuries after coming off at a Classic meeting in Spa.

"As for me, I'm doing okay. Still a bit fragile, and I have to pace myself for most things I want to do. But I am getting better slowly. Another month of so and I should be back to my normal weird normal. I had my winter's supply of firewood delivered about 4 weeks ago and I've been busy splitting and stacking the wood in the wood shed. I'm about half way done and should have the rest down by the end of September. I can work for about an hour then have to come inside and rest. I can walk up to the main road for my mail and back but that's my limit at the moment.

The first of last week I was sitting on the love seat going over my Spa accident and thinking how close I came to being really badly hurt. I looked around my little house and my property and the dogs and cats, and thinking if I had been really hurt my entire world would have been destroyed and lost to me. as much fun as reliving the past in all its glory and some of its shitty times none of it is worth losing my life as I have it now. So I decided the end it, to hang up my leathers and call it a day. I've told Ferry and the other riders on the Team, and a few other friends. It was a difficult decision, but logical and really, the only choice. Now that I have had a week to think about it, I am comfortable with my decision."
