A new reciprocal health agreement between the Isle of Man and the United Kingdom has been signed this morning (Thursday).

Chief Minister Tony Brown and the Health Minister David Anderson have signed the document in the last hour, in front of local media.

The agreement will mean Manx residents travelling to the UK will continue to receive free emergency hospital treatment on the NHS, as will UK residents visiting the Island.

The agreement was saved at the 11th hour in March, when a six month interim extension was granted.
