Author: Manx Grand Prix Riders Association
Posted on: Sunday, May 08 2005

During this year’s Manx Grand Prix the Riders Association will be making
a special award to a rider competing in the races in recognition of good
sportsmanship, endeavour and commitment towards the challenge of the mountain circuit. The recipient of the ”Spirit of the Manx” award will receive a wonderful trophy crafted by Manx Jewellers, Celtic Gold. The award will be presented at a special function taking place at mid day,
behind the grandstand on Sunday 28th August. If you are riding in this
years MGP please come and join us for a drink and a bite to eat. As an added incentive for riders in this year’s races, we have a 2006 Steam Packet ticket for a van and rider to give away – if your names pulled out of the hat and you are not there it will go to somebody else who is!
Membership of the association is open to anyone who has competed in the Manx Grand Prix. Life Membership costs just £10, in return for which you will receive three newsletters every year helping you keep in touch with over 700 other members – you will also know that you are helping to support an Association that first and foremost is about the riders who have competed in this magnificent event. If you would like to join drop an e-mail to j.d.hunter@snhs.sch.im obviously including your name, address and year that you rode. See you all in August!
