2006 MANX GRAND PRIX – RACE PREVIEWS (Monday)

Roads close at 9.30am and first will be the Newcomers’ Race at 10.15.

Top of the Practice Leaderboard in the 750cc class was Sweden’s Mats Nilsson
(600 Yamaha) at 113.328mph set on Thursday evening. Twenty-two seconds slower at 111.300mph was Shane Connor (750 Suzuki) from Co. Meath in Eire, with Michael Weldon from Swords, in Eire, third a further two seconds back at 111.144mph.

Top of the Practice Leaderboard in the 125-400cc class was Michael Dunlop (125 Honda) from Ballymoney at 103.812mph also set on Thursday evening. Twenty-eight seconds slower at 101.628mph is Barry Poll (400 Yamaha) from Spalding, with Daniel Sayle (125 Honda) from Ballaugh third, a further six seconds back at 101.145mph.



The day’s second race will be the Senior Classic event due to start at 1.15pm.

Top of the Practice Leaderboard was Alan Oversby (Norton) from Bolton-le-Sands at 103.812mph set on Thursday evening. Less than a second slower at 102.674mph was Chris Palmer (Norton) from Castletown, with Steve Linsdell (Paton) from Westoning a further six seconds back at 102.261mph.

At the conclusion of the race participants in the Vintage Rally will parade on closed roads from the Quarter Bridge to Ballacraine.

The roads of the TT Course will re-open no later than 5pm, but earlier if racing runs to schedule.
