Speedfreak Racing are the latest team from the British Superbike paddock to commit to the Isle of Man TT Races.

The Speedfreak team is headed up by Paul Shoesmith who has a wealth of racing experience behind him including working with James Whitham and Mick Grant. In 2007 he will be running a four man team in British Superstock and Superstock Cup as well as selected road races, focussing on the Centenary TT.

Shoesmith will be joined at TT2007 by James Edmeades who made an impressive debut at the event this year and two as yet un-named high quality TT newcomers. The team will contest all classes on the latest spec Yamaha machinery with input from seven time former TT winner Mick Grant.

Commenting on his teams TT plans, Paul Shoesmith said:

“The TT is now a very big part of my season and it is the realisation of an ambition to be able to take a team to race there. We already have James (Edmeades) on board and we are fairly close to recruiting the services of two other riders with very strong CV’s to join us. They would both be newcomers to the event. We are aiming to bring a highly professional outfit to the TT and it is going to be quite a challenge with four riders, however it is a challenge that we are more than equipped for.”

Chairman of the TT Steering Committee David Cretney MHK added:

“The British Superbike series is one of, if not the strongest domestic series in the world. It has been encouraging to see a recent trend of riders and teams look to the TT as another option in their season,. I am sure Paul and his team will bring a professional outfit to the TT paddock and it is good to see that they are keen to introduce new good quality riders to the event.”
