INDY CIRCUIT FASTEST LAP SMASHED AGAIN AS MOSSEY GOES TOP

Luke Mossey edged closer to becoming the first rider to break into the 44 second lap time at Brands Hatch this morning; bettering the previous best set only yesterday on the Indy circuit by James Ellison, as the pair were separated by just 0.218s in the final free practice session.

Ellison had initially set the benchmark in the session, but Mossey was on the up and clawed his way ahead in the final 20 minutes as the pair prepare to wage war later this afternoon for the pole position in Datatag Qualifying.

Shane 'Shakey' Byrne had started the session sitting out the first ten minutes, but he soon fired himself into the top three, holding off fierce rival Leon Haslam who split the Be Wiser Ducati team-mates with Glenn Irwin completing the top five.

Christian Iddon was sixth fastest on the sole Tyco BMW ahead of Honda Racing’s Jason O'Halloran and the second McAMS Yamaha of Michael Laverty. Billy McConnell had a strong final free practice session to move to ninth fastest, just ahead of Bennetts Suzuki’s Sylvain Guintoli.
