Police have named the rider of the Suzuki motorcycle who was killed in a collision with a car near to Bulgham on the Laxey to Ramsey coast road on Tuesday (May 29),

He was 31-year-old Andrew Stephen Baxter, from North Shields.

The incident happened at around 11.30am on Tuesday when Mr Baxter’s blue and white motorcycle collided with a red Citroen motor car, being driven by a local man, who had his wife travelling with him as passenger.

The motorcycle was being ridden north, with the car travelling in the direction of Laxey. The occupants of the car were uninjured.

The road was closed for approximately six hours while police conducted enquiries at the scene.
