RE: 250s? What 250s?
Here's a thought.................
assuming that the new 600cc class will be for prototypes then under current rules they will NOT be allowed to race in the Supersport 600 at the TT...........
However also under current rules they WILL be allowed to race in the Junior MGP.............

RE: 250s? What 250s?
Cargo. Strange posting. They won't be allowed to be used at many events - WSB, BSB, NW200, UGP etc. Why do people think the TT has different rules to everyone else? The liklihood of one turning up at the Manx is... well.

whats the difference in the rules? do you mean that 250s are allowed to race in the junior manx?
The diference in the rules is that the TT does NOT allow any kind of protoype into the 600 Supersports race.............. or the Superbike for that matter
At the Manx GP if it is a 600 then it's ok............proper racing
And yes 250 are allowed into the Junior Manx as well

crock stock Wrote:so can formula xtreme bikes race in the junior manx?
i suspect that this new gp series will be even more '1-off' than those bikes but it'l be interesting
In a word yes
The rules for the Junior Manx GP as copied from the regs
Race 4 JUNIOR RACE
201cc – 250cc 2 stroke 2 cylinder
550cc – 600cc 4 stroke 4 cylinder
601cc – 675cc 4 stroke 3 cylinder
651cc – 750cc 4 stroke 2 cylinder
The only other restriction is that tyres must have a moulded thread. NO slicks NO cut slicks NO threaded tyres with cuts
You can do absolutely anything you want with your bike so long as it complies with the general rules of construction and is within the capacity limits

marshall2 Wrote:Cargo, are those displacement limits as stock or final displacement? I.E. Could a bored and stroked (If thats allowed) SV650 run in the 651cc – 750cc 4 stroke 2 cylinder class?
Yes it sure could
I'm not so sure if it would be really competitive but if it over 651cc and under 750cc then it would be fine.
Doesn't matter what the stock size is nor does it matter what you change bore or stroke just so long as it is 651 - 750 and a 4 stroke twin
I would advise that if someone did this they would be almost certain for a post race strip and measure cos if it was 649cc it would NOT be allowed
