Donald Williams, 62, from Brunswick Road, Buckley, died following an accident at a garage at the wing-making factory in Broughton on Wednesday night.



A joint investigation has been launched by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and North Wales Police.

A statement from his wife Sheila, 58, said:

“Donny was much-loved and respected by all of his family and friends. He always lived life to the full and had a long and successful career in motorcycle sidecar racing.

“He would have been at the TT riders’ lunch next week and he will certainly be missed by his friends there. He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed a pint with his friends. He was an all round great guy. We are obviously deeply upset and devastated.”

Broughton site manager Paul McKinlay said:

“Everyone at Broughton is deeply shocked and saddened by this tragic event. All our thoughts and sympathies are with his family and friends at this very difficult time.”
