LAWSON AND MOULAI CONTINUE MGP HEAD TO HEAD WHILE REDMAYNE AND EGAN SIGNAL CHALLENGE IN NEWCOMERS BATTLE

Conditions were described as the best of the week with riders warned of dazzling sunlight although there were still damp patches reported at Governors Dip.

Joe Phillips and James Neesom were the first SuperTwin machines away from pit lane on Glencrutchery Road but Rob Hodson put down a marker ahead of next MGP Supporters Club SuperTwin race with an opening lap of 110.711, marginally outside Neesom's fastest of the week, which he set in Wednesday's session.

Neesom and Gary Gittins also both posted laps of over 109mph on their first lap of the evening but Warren Verwey moved into the top three with a second lap 109.178, marginally ahead of Callum Collister's 109.171.

In the Lightweight's Adrian Kershaw posted the fastest time of the night (104.339) which was the second fastest of the week, behind Mick Jordan's lap on Wednesday. Jordan himself was second fastest with 104.201.

Andy Lawson and Michael Moulai continued their head to head in the Junior session with Lawson topping the board on the night with 116.729 from Moulai's 115.469 while in the Senior session Loughborough's Andy Soar's time of 116.927 was the fastest MGP lap of the evening.

There was notable performances from Manx newcomer Billy Redmayne who 114.509, the fifth fastest overall in the Junior session, and Horwich's Malachi Mitchell-Thomas (114.356) who were both ahead of Shane Egan's Senior time of 113.214.

Dean Osborne continued the strong performances from local newcomers by posting 105.928 in the Newcomers B class with Felpham rider James Caswell-Cox the fastest newcomer C rider with 99.843.
