Michael Dunlop victorious in Dundrod 150 Superbike race

Michael Dunlop continued his winning streak with victory in the Dundrod 150 Superbike race at the MCE Ulster Grand Prix on Thursday.

The race was red-flagged after the leaders had completed two laps following a non-serious incident, which left debris on the course.

A three-lap restart was planned, but due to fading light, Clerk of the Course Noel Johnston made the decision to call it quits.

The race was later declared a result, with Dunlop taking the win on his Hawk Racing BMW from Bruce Anstey on the Valvoline Padgetts Honda RCV and Conor Cummins (Honda Racing).

Dunlop heads into Saturday’s main Superbike races at Dundrod as the favourite after topping the times during final practice.

The 27-year-old has won the Superbike races at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT and bagged a four-timer on the Hawk BMW at the Southern.

Dunlop will be gunning for a clean sweep of wins at the main international meetings and also has the chance to hold the lap record at each of the ‘big three’ road race meetings after establishing new outright records at the North West and TT this season.
