I guess there will always be winners and losers whatever they do.

In the 2015 Superbike TT when Michael Dunlop crashed at the Nook on the last lap there were only 6 riders to complete the full 6 lap distance. The remainder were ranked from 7th downwards on their times at the end of lap 5. Only the first 6 got (silver) replicas.

Excluding retirements the top 5 would have been the same if it was called at the end of lap 5 but Michael Rutter grabbed 6th place by virtue of finishing when he had been behind Dan Kneen at the end of lap 5 (who ended up 7th).
