Team HRC returns to Spain for rounds 4 and 5 of the 2020 Superbike World Championship taking place at the Motorland Aragón circuit over the coming weekends, followed by round 6 at the Barcelona-Catalunya racetrack just two weeks later.

Inaugurated in 2009, Motorland Aragón is a very modern facility located in Alcañiz, in the autonomous community of Aragón in north-east Spain. The circuit lies approximately 250 km from Barcelona and has been a regular fixture on the Superbike calendar since 2011. 5077 metres in length, the track features seven right-hand turns and 10 left-handers.

In what is a shortened 2020 championship, the double-header will see the next six races playing out at the same track. Team HRC has completed two productive test sessions at Motorland Aragón in recent weeks, which means both riders are optimistic heading into these next rounds.

The weekend’s first free practice session will get underway on Friday at 10.30am local time, while the two Superbike races and the Tissot Superpole race will play out over Saturday and Sunday.

Weekend schedule (CET):

Friday
10.30 – 11.20 – SBK Free Practice 1
15.00 – 15.45 – SBK Free Practice 2

Saturday
9.00 – 9.20 – SBK Free Practice 3
11.00 – 11.25 – Superpole
14.00 – SBK Race 1

Sunday
9.00 – 9-15 – SBK Warm-up
11.00 – Superpole race
14.00 – SBK Race 2

“We collected a lot of data during the latest test we completed at Aragón after the Portimão round, and so we have some ideas for the upcoming races. It will be a tough double-header of course, particularly physically, with similarly hot conditions to Jerez and Portimão, but we must be ready to work hard all the same. Our target is clear, or rather to keep improving the feeling with the bike and our performance on the bike. The results will come if we continue to take steps forward. This bike feels increasingly like “my" bike and I’m looking forward to the next rounds.”

“I’m looking forward to the weekends in Aragón. It’s probably the best opportunity we have, because we’ve already tested there twice and so we understand what’s required. So hopefully we can go into the weekend focusing more on fine tuning, rather than testing big things. Our pace in testing was quite good, though we still need to work on some details in the hotter conditions. But I’d say it’s one of our best chances to be fighting for the top spots.”
