Sixty Years Ago - Forgotten ?
I was very surprised that another year was not commemorated this year.

It is 60 years since Geoff Duke won his first TT in 1950.....

I didn't see Geoff this year and hope he is well, but something should have been done to mark this milestone (and not just the 32nd).

Geoff was of the era when British machinery ruled the world yet within 10 years there would be the Jap invasion.

I am proud to record that Geoff was the person who changed me from a mere youngster who preferred to play on the Douglas beach most of the time, to the avid TTFan-atic I am today.

Thank you Geoff, I will always be grateful for the time you took to talk to me when you came to the Regal Hotel on your way to the Villa Marina. He subsequently sent me his blue 79 back number from the Junior that year (he was second) and it is still one of my treasured possessions.

In 2015 I celebrate 68 years as a devoted TTFan
