Southern 100 Staying in Douglas
Hi All,
Apologies if this is not the right place for this!

I am hoping to take my dad to watch the Southern 100 this year as i have been before and loved it! Tried sorting something for the TT but all of the accommodation appears to be taken apart from Glamping!

I have a question regarding getting to the Billown circuit from Douglas (last time i stayed with an ex's family friend so they drove us about). How easy/hard is it to get to the circuit from douglas using public transport on race days as i know they close the roads etc?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated Smile

Thanks in advance

Cheers!

There's a good bus service from Douglas to Castletown. Timetables at Bus Vannin website

Changes to the timetable are published on the same site closer to the event

I stayed B&B at King Williams College in Castletown for the Southern 100 a few years ago

Basic accomodation (small single room), showers down the hall and a great breakfast for about £25 a night

Walking distance for the racing/pubs/shops/etc.

Just a thought, if you are bussing it, take advantage of the 'Go Explore' cards - should work out cheaper....

We jumped on the Steam Train last year. Great fun, and interesting a short walk to the circuit.

Hi,we usually catch the bus beside the petrol station in Castletown, but it can be caught beside the co-op, in the town square, if you fancy something to eat and drink. Even after the final day of racing and the festivities that evening ,the buses were plentiful. My tip for the Billown circuit is ,invest in portable seats,as it can be a long time on your feet.
