RE: Southern 100 Meeting - Programme - Reports & Results
Memorial Laps & Church Service
The sixth annual Southern 100 Memorial laps and Church Service took place on Sunday 7th July at Kirk Malew Church situated at the famous Church Bends on the Colas Billown Course.
After forming up at the Holding Area around 100 Motorcycles ranging from 90cc to Superbikes, plus a Morgan three-wheeler completed a lap and three-quarters, with many stopping at Church Bends to attend the short service.
Led by the Southern 100 Club Chaplain Canon John Coldwell the service was like the races themselves conducted in a friendly way, reflecting on riders we have lost during the past twelve months and celebrating the races we are about to witness or compete in.
Three hearty hymns led by the Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band followed by the Manx National Anthem brought the service to a close and light refreshments were served by the Kirk Malew Church Wardens.
Centre piece of the Service was a Motorcycle Flower Display with the machine featured being the Radcliffe Racing BMW Superbike, kindly loaned for the week by Chris Lennon.
The whole church has been decorated in flowers displaying the Southern 100 Club Colours, by Tricia Clague for which the club are very much appreciative of her hard work and creative designs of the displays.
Kirk Malew is open during Southern 100 practice and race times serving light refreshments which are not too be missed, neither is the Motorcycle Flower Display inside St Lupus Church.

Enjoyed the radio coverage this evening along with some after race clips online, however the ending has left me with concern, and now it's a case of sit and wait and see and what will be will be.

Southern 100 morning roundup
More solo victories for Harrison, Reeves/Wilkes win sidecars
There's been plenty of action at the Southern 100 so far today, and Dean Harrison has been the man to beat again.
First up was S&S Motors 600cc race, which was won by Harrison for his third victory of the meeting.
He finished just 0.268 seconds ahead of Jamie Coward, with Michael Sweeney some 16 seconds off in third.
Next up, David McConnachy won the JCK Ltd 600cc Race Two ahead of Don Gilbert and Dennis Booth.
Booth then went on to win the next one, the GH Corlett Solo Founders Race, beating Jean-Pierre Polet and Richard Eglin to the line.
The final solo race of the morning was the Island Aggregates Senior.
That saw another victory for Harrison, with Sam West more than 11 seconds back in second and Jamie Coward third.
Last night's sidecar race, which was red flagged, has been rerun this lunchtime, in place of the sidecar consolation race.
Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes were the winners, with Alan Founds/Jake Lowther second and Pete Founds/Jevan Walmsley third.

RE: Southern 100 Meeting - Programme - Reports & Results
Harrison dominates Southern 100
Six solo victories for Yorkshireman
There was further success for Dean Harrison at the Southern 100 this afternoon, as the Yorkshireman continued to dominate the race meeting.
Having bagged two wins this morning (in addition to the two he picked up yesterday evening), he then took the chequered flag in the Bettridge's of Foxdale Car Sales 600cc Challenge Race.
That was followed by a comprehensive victory in the Hunts Motorcycles Championship Race, as he finished more than 13 seconds ahead of Ryan Kneen and Rob Hodson.
It means Harrison has been crowned Southern 100 solo champion for the third year in a row.
Here's the moment he crossed the line, as described by Tim Glover, followed by his post-race interview with Chris Kinley:
The podium for the 600cc Challenge race mirrored that of this morning's 600cc race, with Jamie Coward and Michael Sweeney finishing second and third, respectively.
Next up was the Ocean Motor Village 250/650 Race.
Dominic Herbertson won, with Sweeney second and Xavier Denis third.
The Daryl Blake Construction Sidecar Championship Race brought this year's Southern 100 to a dramatic close.
The tightest of races was won by Pete Founds and Jevan Walmsley:
John Holden and Lee Cain were second, with Lee Crawford and Scott Hardie third.
Earlier, the Station Garage Sidecar Consolation Race got this afternoon's session underway.
It was red-flagged after two laps, with Ryan and Callum Crowe, who were leading at the time, declared the winners.
They finished ahead of John Lowther/Robert Child and Michael Russell/Tom Bryant.
