Tyco Racing has signed Peter Hickman to ride alongside Tommy Bridewell in this year's MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship which gets underway on Easter weekend at Brands Hatch (22-25 April).

Hickman brings to the team a wealth of experience having raced a privately-run Yamaha last season and has competed in the championship for several seasons.

Hickman said:

"This is the ride I really wanted and I have worked hard over the winter months to make it happen. At last I will be able to show what I am capable of on a really competitive bike. I will be taking my existing mechanics with me to the team and I know that the combination will be a real force on track this season."

Ian Woollacott's team, who have twice won the privateers cup, joined forces with Tyco Security Products last year which enabled them to purchase the championship-winning HM Plant Hondas.

Woollacott said:

"Not only were we lucky enough to secure Peter to join Tommy, but I also know we will benefit hugely from the experience his father David will bring to our team. With the combination of the two riders and with the support of all our sponsors this is going to be our best ever year in BSB and I can't wait for the season to start."

Phil Dashey, Vice President and General Manager of Tyco Security Products concluded:

"I am delighted that Peter is joining the team. It has always been the intention to sign a second talented rider to partner Tommy Bridewell and he is the perfect choice."
Be right back. I am going to go find myself, and if I leave before I get back, make sure to tell me !! -
