Saturday Race Day - Chit-Chat

Watch the guys run through Parliament Square in each race - HERE

The Mountain Road will not reopen before racing gets under way. It was closed at around 8.20am today (Saturday) because of what police are describing as a serious accident. Officers are carrying out investigations into what happened, but as yet (10am) haven't released any details about who was involved. Roads around the rest of the course close at 11am and the six-lap Superbike TT is due to begin at midday.

So who is going to take the Superbike Race today ? McGuinness looks on it and has done so since since day one of practice. Anstey has put his two pennorth in by doing a 131+ last night. Guy is the peoples favourite, is going really well on the TAS bikes and it is about time he took his first TT win. Gary Johnson is also in the frame and looks good for at least a podium. Caneron Donald is there or there abouts as is Michael Dunlop on that big Kwacker. Rutter is also going well and could make the podium.

Mighty difficult to predict a 123 out of that lot, however don't know what order, but my 123 is John McGuinness, Guy Martin, and Gary Johnson, barring any stoppages.

The incident on the Mountain this morning (at Brandywell), has resulted in the death of the rider involved. No name or other information available apart from the fact that he was from England.

Maria Costello has withdrawn from the Superbike Race today and has also withdrawn from the Stockers. This leaves todays race an all male race. She is now only competing in the Supersport races.

Brilliant Superbike Race today with John McGuinness taking his 16th TT win and a nice touch, dedicating the win to his pal Stuart Easton.

Sidecar Race goes at 15:00 and this could be the closest run sidecar race for a long time. Klaffi has a stonkin engine fitted and gave it a first run in last nights practice, John Holden is looking good as is Tim Reeves.

I can't see those three outfits being beaten by anyone else this year and they will take the 123 (in any order you fancy) in the race, in my opinion.
