Tyco Honda's Peter Hickman topped the timesheets for the first time this weekend at Brands Hatch as he fired himself up the order in the final minutes of morning warm up ahead of the two MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship races later today.

In the early stages of the session Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill, who starts from pole for the second race, was fastest however Hickman then went ahead with seven minutes remaining. Samsung Crescent Racing Suzuki's Jon Kirkham then had a spell at the top as team-mate John Hopkins crashed out at Hawthorns unhurt but it left him sidelined and unable to finish the session, dropping to 13th in the final four minutes.

Michael Laverty on the Swan Yamaha went second in the closing stages to relegate Kirkham back to third with Kawasaki WSB's Joan Lascorz having a strong warm up session in fourth ahead of Hill. Josh Brookes on the Relentless Suzuki by TAS was sixth fastest after his race win yesterday and he maintained the position ahead of James Westmoreland and Michael Rutter. Shane 'Shakey' Byrne and Graeme Gowland rounded out the top ten as Ryuichi Kiyonari dropped to eleventh.
