Two weeks on from the final round at Brands Hatch and John Crockford's condition continues to improve. Following multiple operations and the fitting of a back brace, John is being allowed to wake and being weaned off the ventilator.

Marshal Neill has undergone operations for his injuries to back, leg and arm and was yesterday (Sunday) discharged from hospital to return home to Portadown to continue his recuperation.

BSB Series Director Stuart Higgs said:

"It is with great relief that we have learnt that John and Marshall are improving with good prospects for a full recovery. They were separate, significant accidents which were swiftly and expertly dealt with by our trackside medical team before transfer and further treatment at the Brands Hatch medical centre and then flown to top London hospitals.

"We are enormously grateful for the professionalism, skills and dedication of Dr Heike Romer and the MSVR BSB Medical Team."
