Hot action is promised at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough for the first road race of the 2012 season, the Ian Watson Spring Cup on Sunday 15th April.

Five time winner of the Ian Watson Spring Cup, Ryan Farquhar heads a quality entry for the 14-race programme, although the popular Ulsterman will by no means have an easy ride attempting to retain the title trophy for a sixth consecutive year!

Second and third last year, Michael Pearson and Derek Sheils both return to try and wrest the trophy from present holder.

All eyes will be on another man from Northern Ireland, Ballymoney to be precise, as Michael Dunlop comes to the North Yorkshire venue, cmplete with his new stable of machines for 2012 with the intension of taking at least one chequered flag during the day!

However, there are other riders in contention to take the laurel wreaths including Adrian Archibald, Dean Harrison, Daniel Frear, Ivan Lintin, Davy Morgan, Lee Vernon, Ben Wylie and Mick Goodings to name but a few.

The ‘Lightweight’ classes will as usual add to the flavour of this ‘Spring’ meeting with equally close action provided by Chris Palmer, Gavin Lupton, James Cowton, Darren Gilpin, Daley Mathison, Peter Wakefield, Davy Morgan, Justin Waring and Sarah Boyes.

The thrilling spectacular provided by the Sidecars is also guaranteed with the appearance of Ian and Carl Bell; Conrad Harrison and Lee Patterson; Tony Thirkell and Nigel Barlow, along with Dave Wallis and Simon Dawson ensures the action won’t be for the feint hearted!

The Ian Watson Spring Cup is also the opening round of the Duke Road Race Rankings Series for 2012, with Ryan Farquhar the current title holder hoping to leave ‘The Mount’ on Sunday evening heading the rankings once again.

Admission is £20.00, with camping available at £10.00 per pitch per night for a tent/caravan or £15.00 for motor homes.

The action commences with Practice at 9.00am, followed by Qualifying at 10.15am, with the first race starting at 12.30pm.
