Once again the Belfast and District Motor Club Ltd will promote the traditional and one of the most popular Short Circuit events on the racing calendar.

They will host rounds 4 and 5 of the Irish Superbike Championship on Monday the 9th April at the popular Co Down venue, Kirkistown Race Circuit.

Superbike. Competitors include Cameron Donald and William Dunlop who will be on the Wilson Craig bikes, Ryan Farquhar, Brian McCormack, David Haire, Gavin Johnston on the ex Keith Amor Superstock BMW, Matthew Percy, Nico Mawhinney, Denver Robb.

With the support of Ards Borough Council and Ards Tourism, The Mayors Trophy will be awarded to the winner of the 2nd Superbike race and with a competitive field it is sure to be a hard fought race

Supersport is always a hold your breath class and this year is no exception. This year we have William Dunlop, Cameron Donald, Carl Phillips, Jamie Patterson, Alistair Kirk, Declan Hoey and Timothy and Stuart Elwood among the competitors.

The Supertwins class has seen an explosion in popularity over the last few years and this year’s championship will be the closest yet with Marty Lennon, Ryan Farquhar, Malcolm McKinney, Michael Sweeney, Tommy Heaphy, newcomer Chris Hillis, Gary Fowler, Conor Parkhill all fighting for glory.

The 250GP and Supersport 400’s will share a grid, but as two separate championships. This year we have the addition of Mark Hanna, Richard Glasgow, Paul Robinson,Ciaran Donnelly and MCUI President Chris Blair.
In the Supersport 400’s we have among the entries Johnny McCay, Liam Chalke, Andy McAllister, Alvin Griffin and Morris Heggarty.

The Moto 3 class which incorporates the 125GP machines always sees a good mix of up and coming future talent as well as veteran GP riders and this year promises to see some upsets with young teen sensation Korie McGreevy out for glory. Joining him we have Paul Robinson, Ciaran Donnelly, Malcolm Love and female riders Karen Hadden, Melissa Kennedy and Elle Forrest.

Sharing the grid with these are the Moto 450 machines of the likes of Ryan Farquhar & Barry Davidson.

This year see’s a massive Sidecar entry with outfits from Scotland also joining the mix and no doubt they will be trying to take the victories away from the local racers.

Admission will be £10 per person with children under 12 getting in free (when accompanied by an adult)

Practice to get underway at 9.00am and as with all events promoted by the Belfast and District Club Ltd all classes will get sessions of both untimed and timed practice.
