Well-known local golfer, Eric Corkish continues to support local charities by organising what is now an annual event in memory of local motorcyclist and TT race commentator Geoff Cannell.

A long term supporter of the Joey Dunlop Foundation , Eric continues to support Joeys charity in 2012 with another well know local charity 'Manx Workshop for the Disabled' being nominated to share the proceeds from this charitable golf day.

Kevin Quirk of the Joey Dunlop Foundation said

‘Eric is an amazing person who despite having a disability plays golf most days and in his spare time arranges the annual golf day. Last year £14400 was collected with both JDF and Help for Heroes each receiving £7200.

In 2010 JDF received £6200 both figures are remarkable achievements due to the current economic conditions.

Unfortunately Joeys son Gary and his nephew’s Michael and William cannot attend the event as they will be at Snetterton .

Gary mentioned the family appreciates Erics hardwork and they look forward to a round of golf in 2013’.
