CN Racing Trio Head To Brands Hatch

CN Racing heads to Brands Hatch this weekend hoping to increase their lead in the Motorpoint British Supersport Cup Championship as well as having bolstered their squad in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship.

With five victories and five runner-up placings in the opening 12 races, Carrickfergus rider Glenn Irwin brings his CN Racing-supported Met Healthcare and Megastore 247 Yamaha R6 to the Kent track with a 35.5 point advantage in the Motorpoint British Supersport Cup. The young Ulsterman will once again lock horns with nearest rival Luke Jones and will be expecting to be knocking on the door of a top six placing as well as enjoying Cup success.

Irishman Cody Nally, who joined the team at Knockhill, continues on the Ten Kate-prepared Honda Fireblade hoping that his luck will change. Having just missed out on the points, Nally, from Athlone in County Westmeath, crashed out at Oulton Park in the previous round so will be looking to make amends this weekend.

Also in action for the Hebden Bridge-based team will be Yorkshireman Michael Howarth who will also contest the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship. The former Rugby League professional from nearby Todmorden has had a tough season running his own Ducati so is relishing the opportunity of joining the team.

Dwayne McCracken, Crew Chief:

"We don't want to think about the Supersport Cup Championship just yet but providing Glenn can keep a comfortable distance ahead of Luke Jones over the next couple of rounds, then it's his to lose really. But understandably, he wants to win so we will just see how things work out. Cody just needs a little bit of luck but when we tested at Brands Hatch last week, he was very impressive and we made some big steps forward. We are delighted to welcome Michael into the team as he's a local lad and it was a shame having a bike just sat around doing nothing. We're not expecting him to win but he's good for the team and it's great to give him a chance."
