Linkspan user agreement case goes ahead
.

A court case challenging the government’s linkspan user agreement with the Steam Packet will go to a preliminary hearing.

Deemster Moran says he’ll hold a preliminary trial to determine issues of European law as Seaside Shipping sues the Department of Infrastructure and Steam Packet Company.

In its doleance claim, Seaside Shipping, based in Athol Street in Douglas, says the user agreement is anti-competitive and restricts the free movement of goods and services.

However, the government says that argument doesn’t hold water and is applying for the case to be thrown out.

Ed Oldham reports.
