MSS Kawasaki boss hails Alastair Seeley deal

MSS Kawasaki boss Nick Morgan is already dreaming of Superbike success at next year’s North West 200 after securing the services of event specialist Alastair Seeley.

Carrick rider Seeley, a hat-trick winner in the Superstock, Superbike and Supersport classes at the North West in May, will ride ZX-10R machinery in the 1000cc category for Morgan at the seaside road race, which takes place from May 12-18.

The 33-year-old - who parted company from TAS Suzuki last month after a four-year association - will also ride Kawasakis in the Supersport races after signing a one-year deal to compete for Gearlink Kawasaki in the British Championship alongside old foe Ben Wilson.

MSS chief Morgan told the News Letter:

“We’re pretty excited about Alastair riding our bikes at the North West,” said Morgan, who saw Michael Rutter triumph under the MSS banner in the second NW200 Superstock race this year.

“We had a good run at the event with Michael on the Superstock bike and we had the Superbike working well at the end, so we’re confident with the bikes and confident with Alastair, because he goes like a jet around there.”

Seeley has asserted himself as the rider to beat at the North West 200 and Morgan was understandably bullish about the chances of a Kawasaki success in the blue riband race.

“We’re going there to win and there’s no reason why our momentum from this year can’t be carried into 2013,” he said.

“The bikes are clearly good enough to run at the front and Alastair is obviously the man around there.”
